Boadicea the Victorious British Tour, 12th-18th August

On Sunday 12th August-Saturday 18th August the Boadicea the Victorious British Tour event will take place. This year we received 118 male entries, 87 female entries & 161 junior entries. This scale & quality of entry makes our Club host the stand-out British Tour in the UK. The support of David Crisp, CEO of Boadicea allows our Club to offer £14,300 in prize money for our competitors in the various events.

We are delighted to announce that Miles Maclagen, Euro-Sport & Sky Sports Tennis Commentator and former coach to Andy Murray, Sam Stosur, Marcus Baghdatis & Borna Coric is presenting prizes at Finals Day this year.

In the past few years we have seen ST&SC British Tour accommodate players such as Marcus Willis, Liam Broady, Tom Farquharson, Jay Clarke (Wimbledon semi-finalist this year in Mixed Doubles), Joe Salisbury (Wimbledon semi-finalist this year in Men’s Doubles), Harriett Dart (Wimbledon semi-finalist this year in Mixed Doubles). There is no doubt that players use our Tournament as a stepping stone to help finance their careers and we are proud to play a small part in their development.  Look out for our members Jodie Lawrence-Taylor & Danielle Hack in the Ladies Draw.

I would like to thank all of our members for their support during this week. There will be very limited Court availability but please ask the Tournament Referee, Tim Pearce at any time during the week for a court. He will be supported by Tim Webster. They will be at the Club from 830am each day.

Due to the high level of visitors to the Club, Sutton Council will not enforce parking restrictions on single yellow lines from 13th – 18th August in Devonshire Road & The Highway. Please do NOT park on double yellow lines or the verges or restrict access to local houses. I have received confirmation to this effect & it will be displayed within the Clubhouse.

An excellent menu will be available from 9am each day so please come down and enjoy some of the best tennis in the UK.  Finals Day lunch is available at £10 per person and tickets can be purchased at the bar.
