There is a lot happening at the club over the next couple of weeks, most of which will hopefully be enjoyable for the members, but also involves a bit of disruption / limited tennis courts. If you are aware of everything, hopefully you can come along to the club at the right times……
u14 tennis County Cup this Saturday 5th, Sunday 6th and Monday 7th May.
We host this event every year. It means that the club will be open for food and drink from 10am through to evening on all 3 days, so why not come along for a bite and watch some of the girls tennis? But it also means that 6 tennis courts will be in use for this event from 8.30am to about 6-7pm on all 3 days. So tennis courts will be very limited. It’s advisable to check court bookings at www.clubspark.lta.org.uk/suttontennissquashclub/Booking/BookByDate to see when the busiest times are and avoid those. Where there is nothing shown on the booking page, this means that the courts are available for members to play on a first-come-first-served basis. Please put your name down on the white board in the conservatory with the time that you go on court. Then anyone wanting to queue for the court can go after you and there will be a 1-hour playing limit.
Wimbledon ballot Thursday 3rd, plus BBQ plus tennis & squash on the tennis court
Come along to find out if you will receive Wimbledon tickets in the ballot this year. All STSC paid up members who have opted in will go into the ballot for the chance to buy Wimbledon tickets. You can contact Karl on firstname.lastname@example.org or 07976 547239 to check if you made it into the ballot.
We’ve changed the format for allocating tickets. If you are lucky enough to have your name name pulled out on the night of the draw, you will be able to choose which day you would like to go to Wimbledon. But if you are not present on the night of the draw, you will be allocated the tickets that are left at the end.
If you are unable to make it to the ballot, you can send a proxy in your place to select your tickets if your name is pulled out.
Enjoy a free glass of Pimms, plus the BBQ will be in full swing.
Just turn up. The draw will happen at 7.30pm.
Squash on the tennis court
Squash coach, Sam Hodgkins will be running a session on tennis court 1 on Thursday at 7.20 and 8pm. This usually takes place in the squash courts and involves fitness training. On this occasion it is happening on the tennis court and tennis members are welcome to join in. If you’d like to do so, please contact Sam on 07738266230 or email@example.com.
Again, tennis courts are likely to be very busy this Thursday so it’s advisable to avoid unless you are joining in with one of the organised sessions. See the booking page
Quiz night this Friday 4th May
There is still time to sign up if you’d like to get involved. Sign up on the sheet in the foyer or email Karl on firstname.lastname@example.org
